DAB changes

Why can't I find my station on DAB digital radio?

We've recently made some changes to our digital radio distribution. Some of our stations have moved to DAB+, which means more stations are available to more listeners — and they'll now broadcast in stereo, improving sound quality.

Most newer radios are DAB+ compatible, so a quick rescan or retune should be all you need. On some radios, you may just need to turn the dial one click left or right to find your station again.

If you're still not finding us, try the following:

Reset your radio
Resetting your radio will fix most retuning issues. You'll likely need to re-add any presets or personalised settings afterwards.

Reposition your radio
Your radio will find stations more easily if you retune near a window or an outside wall. Some radios have a signal strength indicator to help you find the best spot. Once retuned, you may be able to move it elsewhere and continue listening. If your radio has an aerial, make sure it's fully extended.

Re-save your preset
After retuning, scroll through the full channel list to find your station and re-save it to your presets. Old presets won't update automatically.

Check if the station has moved in the list
DAB+ radios often order stations alphabetically within each multiplex (a multiplex is how digital radio stations are grouped and transmitted). This means there can be multiple A–Z lists — so a station beginning with 'A' might appear again after 'Z' as you scroll from one group to the next. This is particularly common on DAB+ car radios.

If your radio isn't DAB+ compatible

Not all radios support DAB+. If yours doesn't, you can still listen via:

  • Rayo app — stream for free on iPhone or Android
  • Smart speaker — just say "Play [station name]" to Alexa, Google Home, or Siri
  • Online — visit hellorayo.co.uk and select your station
